Lacy J Lodes has extensive experience in Intellectual Property related services, ranging from managing a voluminous IP portfolio, implementing strategies for proper global IP protection, coordinating license agreements and advising on product development in a proactive manner to facilitate extensive protection for future success. Through her work with large sports and entertainment product companies, she focuses on product through the development lifecycle, including, international production, distribution, marketing, and sweepstakes/packaging issues that arise with licensed product. Additionally, Ms. Lodes facilitates celebrity/athlete endorsements of product, or inclusion of celebrity rights of publicity built into the product to develop fandom collectibles. 

 

She first earned a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Central Oklahoma; continued on to earn an M.B.A at Oklahoma Christian University graduating with honors, and eventually obtained her J.D. at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law.

 

Ms. Lodes currently acts as in-house counsel for Cryptozoic Entertainment and as legal counsel for Hex Entertainment. Previous roles include the International Associate for Power Balance, The Upper Deck Company, and private consulting for athletes and apparel companies.

 

Her expertise from in-house corporate IP departments gives her a real world practical touch. As a consultant, Ms. Lodes has analyzed licensing strategies of intellectual asset portfolios, provided guidance on customs and practices within the licensing industry, and performed valuations of intangible assets.

 

Ms. Lodes has been published in the areas of celebrity and athlete rights of publicity and valuation, as well as the state of the licensing industry as a whole.
