Ms. Fields-Bernard has a background in civil litigation and criminal prosecution. From January 2008 to December 2013 she served as a City Council Committee Consultant for former Councilman Anthony Young. Ms. Fields-Bernard serves as a pro tem judge for the San Diego Superior Court.
