Marian Birge is a Founder of Garcia & Birge, APC. She has more than 20 years of experience in civil litigation, and is an experienced appellate lawyer. With a background in civil rights and catastrophic torts, her civil practice presently includes employment law, discrimination, disability issues, contracts, and business disputes. Ms. Birge is also a trained mediator, and gives guidance to employers in the development of preventive measures to avoid costly and burdensome litigation.
Ms. Birge is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the North San Diego County Bar Association. In 2009, Ms. Birge helped develop goals and contracts for the first International Social Action Film Festival with the Legacy XXI Institute. Ms. Birge and her law partner co-authored Voir Dire and Plaintiff’s Opening Statement Chapter 14 in Litigating the Workplace Harassment Case, an American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section publication, edited by Marlene Heyser, First Edition (2010). She has published articles in North County Lawyer Magazine including Lessons from a Six-Week Professional Negligence Trial, Exclusion of Testimony of Non Retained Experts, Vol. 30, No 11 (2013) and Attacking the Expert Witness, Vol. 31, No 1 (2014). She is licensed to practice in California and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of California.
