Following graduation from law school, where she earned pro bono hours volunteering in the Office of the Family Law Facilitator and Small Claims Court of the San Diego Superior Court, Professor Brown continued her
30 + year career in telecommunications as a nationwide middle-level manager at AT&T in the Government Solutions organization. In that capacity, she reviews, edits, and drafts responses to government Requests for Proposals for contracts over $250,000. After passing the California Bar, she then returned to Thomas Jefferson to assist in the Small Claims Court Mediation program and the newly established Probate Court Mediation Program. She is a regular guest speaker in Introduction to Mediation about mediation as a career choice. She helped develop the inaugural offering of a new component of the school’s Advanced Mediation Program: Peer Mediation.
Her article, “Why Elder Law?” was published in the 2011 Spring Newsletter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Young New Lawyers Division. Professor Brown is a member of the state bar of California and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
