During the graduation ceremony of Southern Virginia University held on Saturday, May 2 former SVU president and current TJSL Distinguished Professor Rodney Smith received an honorary degree.
"This is the second honorary degree that I have received," said Smith. "As a former law school dean and college president, I know how selective this process is. I am deeply gratified to have been so honored."
Dr. Smith, who was SVU’s president from 2004-2011 was honored for his major contributions to the growth of the university.
