A group of 15 attorneys from Brazil arrived at TJSL on Monday, June 11 for this summer’s LEEP Program (Legal Education and Exchange Program.)

The Brazilians will be on campus for three weeks, taking a course on the Fundamentals of the U.S. Legal System.

“It is a pleasure to have my colleagues from Brazil here,” said LEEP Program Director Carla McEwen, who added, “this time, the program will be more intensive and the students were selected based on their legal skills and proficiency in English.”

The class is being recorded for use in an online video course that will be accessible to people who cannot travel to San Diego to take the course in person.

Among the TJSL professors and adjunct Professors who are teaching during the LEEP Program are Thom Golden, K.J. Greene, Steve Semeraro, William Byrnes, Catherine Deane, Carla McEwen, Jason Fiske, Marshall Langer, Christine Ellingsen, Scott McEwen, Christine Yusi, and alumni Renee and Eric Ganci, both ’08.

The LEEP Program began in 2011 and has since hosted several groups.  LEEP will also be hosting a group of attorneys from India soon, after they complete the first phase of the program online.

Welcome to TJSL!
