TJSL’s student organization leaders were honored at a special reception held for them on Tuesday, November 27 in the law school’s 8th Floor conference room – the Co-Curricular Reception. The event featured wine, hors d’oeurves, desserts and a convivial networking opportunity.

“This is our way of saying thanks for all of your efforts,” said Dean Rudy Hasl during a brief program. “We feel strongly that each of you deserve recognition for the activities you are pursuing and representing the law school to the outside community. Most of our students don’t see how much work you put in and we appreciate your participation. All of the skills you’re learning are translatable to a successful practice. You benefit, the law school benefits.”

“I agree with Dean Hasl,” said Kevin Kampschror 3L. “I believe working on Law Review will be an asset immediately upon graduation.” And Kampschror, who is also the president of the Criminal Law Society, says his participation has allowed him to “meet many different trial attorneys in the community and that’s valuable.”

“It helps to feel appreciated,” said Antionette Scott 3L of the Mock Trial Team. “A lot of people don’t realize how much work goes into participating in the competition teams.”

Student Bar Association president Gabe Baldini 3L said, “It’s a great event to honor the work all of the co-curriculars have done throughout the semester.”

“It’s nice to have the administration and fellow students get together to recognize our hard work and dedication,” said Kelly Hayes 3L. “And the desserts are amazing!”

TJSL's many student organizations provide a valuable opportunity to students to develop collegial relationships as well as to hear from top legal professionals at the student events on campus.
