Nearly 100 community members gathered at Thomas Jefferson School of Law on Sunday evening, November 10, to hear San Diego mayoral candidates Kevin Faulconer, David Alvarez and Michael Aguirre address how they would deal with issues concerning downtown San Diego and the city in general. Candidate Nathan Fletcher was unable to attend.
 

Organized by a number of Downtown community groups, including TJSL's Center for Law & Social Justice, the forum gave the candidates an opportunity to discuss issues ranging from improving the image of Downtown neighborhoods, to promoting more business growth, to funding community and infrastructure projects, to solving the homeless problem and creating a better quality of life in the Downtown area, to implementing new measures to boost tourism.  

Jack Monger of the East Village Association Board of Directors moderated the forum. The community groups that organized the forum included:
