On Saturday, September 20, 2014, members of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity joined together for a fraternity social event which was held at PETCO Park in the Toyota Luxury Box for the Padres v. Giants game.

“We are brothers and sisters in this fraternity,” said Michael Arellanez, Dean of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. “But the Toyota Luxury Box that was reserved for the game was filled equally with competing cheers and boos for the Padres and the Giants. The event was one more opportunity to allow our members to relax before we all head into the midterm season.”

Among the members in attendance for the event were Professors William Slomanson, Ben Templin, Tom Golden and Alumni Board member Phil Shapiro ‘85.  “Many of the faculty and staff of TJSL are members,” said Randy Rivas, Tribune of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. “We plan to continue striving to reconnect our past members with current members.” The game was the fraternity’s first social event of the year since being re-chartered.

In the spring of 2014, the fraternity was re-chartered with the help of Mr. Shapiro. “Since being re-chartered it has been our mission to have a greater presence on campus. Social events like the baseball game help to remind everyone the value of fellowship,” said Laura Rose Matteis, Vice-Dean of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity.

“We would like to thank all those that helped bring Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity members together for the event,” said Dean Michael Arellanez. “We are positive our events will continue to make us a dynamic organization on campus.”
