The Lawyers Club of San Diego honored Alyssa Casiple as the fifth recipient of the Lawyers Club Women and the Law Project at Thomas Jefferson School of Law Scholarship on Thursday, December 11th, 2014 at the Lawyers Club annual Holiday Luncheon at the Westin San Diego - Emerald Plaza.

TJSL President and Dean Thomas Guernsey introduced Casiple, who was one of several San Diego law students to receive a $2,000 scholarship.

Casiple joins a long list of distinguished scholarship winners. In 2010, Catrina Skor was selected by Lawyers Club as the first recipient of this scholarship, Elizabeth Knowles received the honor in 2011, Amy Louttit in 2012, and Kimberly Coulter was honored as last year’s recipient.

The scholarship provides $2,000 to a TJSL student who demonstrates support of the mission of Lawyers Club, is academically among the top 50% of her or his law school class, and has completed one full year of law school (30 units minimum). The scholarship is intended to be used for tuition and books.

Applications for the scholarship were solicited in early October and submitted to the Lawyers Club Scholarship Committee for selection of a candidate to be approved by the Lawyers Club Board of Directors. TJSL had several well-qualified candidates this year.
