Thomas Jefferson School of Law’s General Counsel Karin Sherr is being honored by the San Diego Business Journal.

 

The San Diego Business Journal’s 3rd annual celebration of General Counsel, to be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park, is designed exclusively to recognize excellence in the In-House Counsel community.

 

Awards will be presented in four categories: Public Company, Privately-held Company, Nonprofit Company and Rising Star.

 

Karin Sherr was honored to be named as a finalist for the 2015 General Counsel Awards, “It is an honor to be recognized amongst such a prestigious group of attorneys, said Sherr. “I appreciate the San Diego Business Journal including me in its consideration for an award, along with several of our graduates.”

 

Alumni Emily Lough, Robert Bello and Wade Poulson are also being honored.

 

This special evening honoring the best counsel in San Diego County brings together the members of the local bar and the leading In-House Counsel in a celebration of the accomplishments over the past year. General Counsel Awards showcases legal heroes in the community who exemplifies traits that all In-House Counsel strive to attain and hone — measured and trusted judgment, legal and business acumen, vision, and leadership.

 

Karin Sherr joined Thomas Jefferson School of Law as its General Counsel in 2013. Prior to coming to TJSL, Ms. Sherr worked in private practice representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law at both the trial and appellate levels in state and federal court. She has assisted employers with claims ranging from administrative charges and single plaintiff lawsuits to large wage and hour class actions.

 

Sherr earned a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish, and a M.S. in Family and Child Studies from Miami University. She attended law school at Washington & Lee University School of Law. After graduating from law school, Ms. Sherr clerked for Judge William McCurine (Ret.) of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
