On Thursday, August 6, 2015, the Alumni Association hosted its monthly alumni mixer at Bottega Americano on the ground floor of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law building for alums, students and some membersof the staff to unwind and network. The Alumni Association hosts a monthly mixer in San Diego and others in Orange County, and occasionally hosts mixers in cities like Las Vegas, Seattle, Washington D.C. Tampa and Fort Lauderdale, Florida for alumni who want to get together.

“It’s always a wonderful experience to get to know others from a shared background” explained Communications Committee Co-Chair, Amanda Thompson '07. Overall, at least twenty alums and a several students attended the mixer and discussed work, school, and life. Attendees mingled over wine, cocktails, and delicious bruschetta and sausage or margherita pizzas donated to the Association by Bottega Americano.

Matthew Speredelozzi and Dan Schwender caught up with fellow 2007 graduate and Co-Chair of the Career Planning Committee, Brian Findley, about recent cases and trial successes.

“I like the mixers because they have given me the opportunity to meet with fellow alumni who are further along in their legal careers and are willing to take the time to give a new attorney like myself advice,” said Lee Vernon '14.

Brian Findley ‘07, Co-Chair of the Career Planning Committee, said, “Thomas Jefferson alumni are the core of our Alumni Association – certainly students are the future of it. We want to help them succeed in any way we can. If that means providing them a vehicle to network, then that’s what we’re here for.”

“With events like these, it’s easy to see why Thomas Jefferson was recently named one of the top 25 institutions in the United States for networking opportunities by GraduatePrograms.com,” said Communications Committee Co-Chair, Amanda Thompson '07.

The San Diego Monthly Student & Alumni Mixers are held the first Thursday of every month at Bottega Americano located in the lobby of Thomas Jefferson School of Law. If you would like to attend please be sure to RSVP.
