LLM candidates work closely with their faculty advisors and the LLM Program Director to design a program of study designed to fit their career goals.
The Career Services and Student Affairs Offices provide individualized career counseling, including assisting LLM students:
- with everything from resume drafting to interviewing to networking;
- finding employment and internship opportunities through a variety of resources;
- working with foreign lawyers earning LLM degrees to receive Optional Practical Training allowing graduates to work with a law firm or government agency in the United States for up to twelve months after completing their studies.
Students graduating from this program now work in a wide variety of legal positions in San Diego as well as throughout the United States and the world.
